Kaleidoscope Trust appoints new Regional Director for Africa
The Kaleidoscope Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Oluoch as its new Regional Director for Africa. Anthony is based in Nairobi and is a former Legal and Human Rights Officer for the Gay and Lesbian Coalition of Kenya (GALCK) and Acting Director of the Gay Kenya Trust.
Anthony will coordinate the Trust's work across Africa and takes up his position immediately.
Welcoming the appointment, Kaleidoscope Trust Executive Director Lance Price said: "Anthony is a widely respected figure in the global campaign to uphold the human rights of LGBT citizens. He has proven experience, a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in fighting against homophobia and discrimination, and a profound commitment to the cause. His record both in Africa and internationally is outstanding and he will be a huge asset to the Kaleidoscope Trust."
Speaking from Nairobi, Anthony Oluoch said:
I am delighted to join the Kaleidoscope Trust team of dedicated human rights activists. This, for me, is yet another chance to try and make a difference in the lives of LGBT Africans facing violence and discrimination just for being themselves. It is also a chance to show the world that diversity is a part of us and acceptance of it is what makes us one.
