Kaleidoscope Trust is a founding member and host to the Secretariat of The Commonwealth Equality Network (TCEN).
Founded in 2013, TCEN is the first civil society network to sustainably advocate for the removal of legal, political, social, economic and cultural barriers to equality for LGBTI+ people within the Commonwealth. TCEN now comprises nearly 60 member organisations representing nearly all Commonwealth member countries in all regions. The network uses collective advocacy, research and capacity strengthening to build a Commonwealth where all LGBTI+ persons are free from discrimination and violence.
In 2018, TCEN was instrumental in persuading the UK's then-Prime Minister Theresa May to express deep regret for the colonial-era laws that continue to criminalise consensual same-sex intimacy in many countries.
