Thank you for applying to be part of the Global LGBTI+ Rights Commission. As the Commission moves into its next phase, we’re inviting selected applicants to join the Advisory Council.
Congratulations! We look forward to collaborating with you.
The Commission’s work aims to reflect a diversity of regional perspectives, lived experiences, and areas of expertise. Members of the advisory council will engage directly with our thematic working groups to engage fully with the evidence gathered by the Commission working papers in order to co-create the ideas and recommendations that will inform the Global Roadmap for LGBTI+ Rights.
What This Means
As an Advisory Council member, you’ll:
-
Join one or more research streams aligned with your expertise or interests (please fill out form below).
-
Participate in virtual consultations and review drafts of working papers.
-
Contribute insights from your regional or thematic experience.
Engagement is designed to be flexible and collaborative. Most members will likely contribute a few hours each quarter, with optional opportunities for deeper involvement.
Each thematic stream represents a core area of inquiry for the Commission. You may choose to join one or several thematic streams, depending on your background and interests. We are also conscious that many themes overlap and will be making efforts for thematic working groups to engage with one another as well.
1. Institutional and Procedural
This stream examines how anti-rights actors have infiltrated legal and institutional systems — and how pro-rights movements can strategically reclaim these spaces.
2. Discursive and Cultural
This stream explores how anti-rights movements are using the power of language, faith, and culture in shaping rights debates— and how LGBTI+ advocates can reclaim these narratives.
3. Geopolitical Tactics
This stream aims to investigate transnational financial systems, ideological alliances, and the digital infrastructures spreading anti-rights agendas.
4. People and Realities
This stream focuses on storytelling, protection, and alliance-building — exploring the human cost of advocacy and the power of collaboration across difference.
Confirm Your Participation
Please take a few moments to confirm your participation and indicate which research streams you’d like to engage with. We will make every effort to accommodate all your preferences but are conscious of the time commitment required.
