New Director to take the helm at the Kaleidoscope Trust
The Kaleidoscope Trust is excited to announce the appointment of Dr Felicity Daly as Executive Director. Felicity has an outstanding record of promoting sexual rights in development policy and programming.
Felicity has over 15 years professional experience in international development, working in international non-governmental organisations and as a consultant in academia, with bilateral donors and UN agencies. She has extensive technical expertise in the response to sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV/AIDS in low and middle-income countries.
Most recently Felicity completed doctoral research into how South Africa's LGBTI sector has engaged in the development of strategies to mitigate poor sexual heath among lesbian and bisexual women in the context of high rates of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections and rising homophobic violence.
Felicity's background in public health and social development programming will support Kaleidoscope Trust to expand its work to support partnerships with LGBT organisations in low and middle income countries.
Siddo Deva, Chair, said: "It is a privilege to welcome such a talented and committed individual to the Trust. Felicity brings a wealth of experience and skill that will greatly support the Trust's work around the world in defence of human rights for LGBT people."
Dr Felicity Daly, Executive Director, said: "I am delighted to be joining the Kaleidoscope Trust. This is a crucial time to provide support to LGBT rights defenders who continue to work on decriminalisation on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and face increasingly oppressive legislation. I am excited to lead this growing organisation in new directions and to build on its many successes."
