We support LGBT+ activists around the world

Fourth Annual Gala Dinner

January 28, 2016, The Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, Portman Square, London

Kaleidoscope Trust’s 4th Annual Gala Dinner will take place on Thursday 28 January 2016 at The Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, Portman Square, London.

We need your support. With your help we can engender social change which will bring real benefits to the lives of LGBT people in low and middle income countries. Funds raised at last year’s gala dinner have allowed us to continue to engage with courageous activists campaigning for the human rights of LGBT people, often at great personal risk.

We have been building political will to reject homophobia and transphobia through Commonwealth institutions and countries at the highest levels both in private and in public, encouraging them to advance the human rights of LGBT people. This year we have made great strides in providing a platform for over 35 LGBT organisations in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean who are urging leaders of Commonwealth countries to defend the rights of all their citizens.

We speak out loud when we need to. But we also work behind the scenes, looking to persuade governments that access to healthcare, education and employment for their LGBT citizens is not just their human right but also in the national interest of the countries of which they are citizens.

At home, we have continued to engage with Parliamentarians, now utilising the All Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT Rights which has grown out of the Parliamentary Friends of the Kaleidoscope Trust. Following changes in leadership after the election we have re-engaged with the Department for International Development and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to ensure that Britain does all it can to support the global struggle against discrimination and criminalisation based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

None of this vital work would be possible without the generosity of people like you!
