Last night the the Rt Hon Crispin Blunt MP launched the Parliamentary Friends of the Kaleidoscope Trust Group. Hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow in his official chambers, the new group promises to strengthen Kaleidoscope Trust’s ties with the Houses of Parliament.
Speaking movingly of his own journey to LGBT human rights advocacy, Chairmen of the Parliamentary Friends Group, Crispin Blunt MP said, ‘Around the world there are many brave activists working to deliver the same changes we’ve seen in out society over the last 50 years in enabling people to be themselves. Some of them run profound risks, and they deserve our support.’
Lance Price, Executive Director of the Kaleidoscope Trust said, ‘We’re profoundly grateful for the support we have recieved from all corners of parliament. Through the support of the members of both Houses, we can more effectively pursue the goal of a universal recognition of the human rights of LGBT people and more effectively lobby the government to help achieve our national and international aims.’
