Exploring the Efficacy of Advocacy: Options to Highlight the Persecution of the LGBTI Community Across the Globe

London

September 4, 2014, Europe House

The Kaleidoscope Trust alongside a group of other UK-based NGOs concerned with the persecution of the LGBTI community across the globe is delighted to invite you to a seminar on 4th September to explore advocacy options to tackle LGBTI persecution.

The seminar will be chaired by Philippa Drew, Board Member of the Kaleidoscope Trust, and gather together representatives from civil society, governments and inter-governmental organisations to consider the role of advocacy in diplomacy, politics, culture and litigation and how change may be brought about. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion, and concluding observations will be made by Maxim Anmeghichean from Open Society Foundations.

The seminar is also an opportunity  to hear more about the work of the UN’s Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and to celebrate their Free & Equal Campaign. We are very fortunate that both Charles Radcliffe,  Chief, Global Issues Section at the OHCHR, and Celina Jaitly, Bollywood star and UN Equality Champion for the United Nations Free and Equal Campaign, will be with us.

The event's Twitter hashtag is #LGBTIadv
